Abu Abbas Quotes

A collection of quotes by Abu Abbas.

Abu Abbas, also known as Muhammad Zaidan, was a Palestinian political leader and a prominent figure in the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). He was born in 1948 in the city of Safed, which is now part of Israel. Abbas dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause and played a significant role in the armed struggle against Israeli occupation.

During the 1970s, Abu Abbas founded the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF), a PLO faction that sought to liberate Palestine through armed resistance. The PLF gained international notoriety for its involvement in several high-profile attacks, most notably the hijacking of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro in 1985. The hijackers had demanded the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.

Abu Abbas and his organization faced worldwide condemnation for the hijacking, particularly due to the murder of an elderly American passenger who was thrown overboard in a wheelchair. After the hijackers were apprehended, Abbas was convicted in absentia by an Italian court but managed to evade capture for many years.

Eventually, in 2003, Abu Abbas was arrested by American forces during the Iraq War. He died in US custody the following year, reportedly due to natural causes. Though his controversial actions continue to divide opinions, Abu Abbas remains a significant figure in Palestinian history, known for his militant resistance against Israeli occupation.
