A collection of quotes by Baroness Emmuska Orczy.

Baroness Emmuska Orczy, born as Emma Magdalena Rosalia Maria Josefa Barbara Orczy, was a Hungarian-British novelist, playwright, and artist. She was born on September 23, 1865, in Tarnaörs, Hungary, and passed away on November 12, 1947, in London, England.

Orczy is best known for her iconic novel "The Scarlet Pimpernel," which was published in 1905. Set during the French Revolution, the novel follows the adventures of Sir Percy Blakeney, a seemingly foolish British aristocrat who secretly rescues French nobility from the guillotine. The Scarlet Pimpernel became an international sensation and spawned a successful series of books, as well as numerous stage and film adaptations.

During her career, Orczy wrote over a dozen novels, as well as numerous plays and short stories. She was also an accomplished artist, exhibiting her paintings in prestigious galleries. Despite her success, she always considered herself primarily an artist.

Baroness Orczy lived most of her adult life in London, England, where she resided with her husband, Montagu Barstow. She was known to be a private individual, and not much is widely known about her personal life. Nevertheless, her literary works continue to captivate readers and inspire adaptations to this day.
