Carl Barat is a British musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the co-frontman and guitarist of the indie rock band The Libertines. Born on June 6, 1978, in Basingstoke, England, Barat formed The Libertines in the late 1990s alongside Pete Doherty. The band gained significant success and a dedicated fanbase before disbanding in 2004. Barat went on to pursue a solo career and also formed the band Dirty Pretty Things.
