Ernst Röhm was a German military officer and one of the early leaders of the Nazi Party. Born in 1887, he served in World War I and later played a significant role in the formation of the Sturmabteilung (SA), also known as the Stormtroopers. Röhm's leadership of the SA brought about its rapid growth and increased influence within Nazi Germany. However, in 1934, he fell out of favor with Adolf Hitler and was executed during the Night of the Long Knives purge.
