Frank Layden is a former American basketball coach and executive. Born on October 5, 1932, he made a significant contribution to the sport during his career. Layden served as the head coach of the Utah Jazz from 1981 to 1988 and led the team to multiple successful seasons. In recognition of his coaching excellence, Layden was awarded the NBA Coach of the Year in 1984. After stepping down as head coach, he continued to work with the Jazz as the team's president and general manager until 1999.
