Jean-Claude Duvalier, also known as "Baby Doc," was the ruler of Haiti from 1971 to 1986. Born on July 3, 1951, he succeeded his father François Duvalier as the President for Life at the age of 19. Duvalier's regime was marked by corruption, political repression, and human rights abuses. Despite promising democratic reforms, his rule continued to be autocratic and brutal. In 1986, due to mounting public protests and pressure, Duvalier fled Haiti and lived in exile until his return in 2011. He faced charges for embezzlement and human rights violations but passed away in 2014 before facing a trial.
