Lucius Annaeus Seneca, commonly known as Seneca the Younger, was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, and tragedian. Born in Cordoba, Spain, around 4 BC, Seneca became a prominent figure during the reign of Emperor Nero. He served as a tutor and advisor to Nero, but became embroiled in political intrigues and was eventually accused of conspiracy and forced to commit suicide in AD 65.
