A collection of quotes by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was an Indian spiritual leader and the founder of Transcendental Meditation (TM). Born on January 12, 1918, in Madhya Pradesh, India, his original name was Mahesh Prasad Varma. After completing his education in physics, he became a disciple of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, the Shankaracharya (spiritual leader) of Jyotirmath in the Himalayas.

In 1955, Maharishi started introducing Transcendental Meditation, a technique aimed at achieving deep relaxation and self-realization. He gained international recognition in the 1960s when The Beatles and other influential figures were drawn to him and became his followers. He subsequently established the Spiritual Regeneration Movement Foundation and later the World Plan Executive Council to promote his teachings and initiatives.

Inspired by his desire to create world peace through meditation, Maharishi introduced programs such as the Transcendental Meditation technique, the TM-Sidhi program (which includes the practice of Yogic Flying), and the establishment of large meditation centers called "Universities of World Peace" around the world. His teachings emphasized the benefits of experiencing pure consciousness in improving personal well-being and enhancing society as a whole.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi passed away on February 5, 2008, in Vlodrop, the Netherlands. Despite his physical departure, his influence on the practice of meditation and his promotion of peace continue to inspire millions around the world.
