Manfred von Richthofen, popularly known as the "Red Baron," was a German fighter pilot and one of the most renowned aces of World War I. He was born on May 2, 1892, in Breslau, Germany (now Wroclaw, Poland). Richthofen initially had a passion for aviation and began his military career as a cavalry officer. However, after witnessing the success of German aviation during the early stages of the war, he transferred to the Imperial German Army Air Service in 1915.

Richthofen quickly gained fame for his exceptional flying skills and strategic combat tactics.
