Mike Todd Quotes

A collection of quotes by Mike Todd.

Mike Todd (1909-1958) was an American theater and film producer, as well as a showman known for his larger-than-life personality. Born as Avrom Hirsch Goldbogen in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Todd began his career in the entertainment industry as a salesman of theater equipment. With his charm and innovative ideas, he soon became a successful Broadway producer.

Todd was known for his extravagant productions, such as the musical comedy "Hot Mikado" (1939) and the Latin-themed revue "Mexican Hayride" (1944). In 1952, he produced the highly acclaimed Broadway production of "The Seven Year Itch." However, his most significant achievement came in 1956, when he produced the film "Around the World in 80 Days," which became a massive box-office success and won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Aside from his success in the entertainment industry, Todd was renowned for his lavish lifestyle and relationships with famous women. He was married three times, including to actress Joan Blondell, and his third wife was the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Unfortunately, Mike Todd's life was tragically cut short in 1958 when he died in a plane crash at the age of 48. Despite his premature death, his influence on the world of entertainment remains significant, and his larger-than-life approach to producing continues to inspire filmmakers and theater producers to this day.
