William Warren Scranton was an American politician and diplomat who served as the 38th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1963 to 1967. He was born on July 19, 1917, in Madison, Connecticut, and hailed from a prominent political family. After the war, Scranton ventured into various business endeavors before embarking on a successful political career.
