Giovanni Ruffini Quotes
A collection of quotes by Giovanni Ruffini.
Giovanni Ruffini (1807-1881) was an Italian writer and politician. Born in Genoa, Ruffini is best known for his historical novel "Lorenzo Benoni" (1834), which explored the political and social struggles during the Risorgimento period. He actively supported the revolutionary republicanism movement and had to flee to France after the failed 1833 insurrection in Piedmont. Ruffini eventually settled in England and became close friends with British author Elizabeth Barrett Browning. He contributed to several literary publications and continued to advocate for Italian independence and unification throughout his life.
