John Amery (1912-1945) was a British fascist and traitor during World War II. Born into a distinguished family, he was the son of Leo Amery, a prominent Conservative politician. However, Amery's political beliefs sharply diverged from his father's.

In the 1930s, Amery became involved in far-right politics and espoused extreme nationalist and anti-Semitic views. He supported Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, even travelling to Germany in 1937 to offer his services to Adolf Hitler. Despite his British citizenship, Amery vehemently opposed the war effort against the Axis powers.

During the war, Amery turned his back on his country and actively collaborated with the Axis forces. He made propaganda broadcasts on German radio, attempting to recruit British prisoners of war to fight against their own countrymen. In 1945, as Germany was collapsing, Amery, desperate to continue his fight against Britain and maintain loyalty to Hitler, volunteered for a unit of the Waffen-SS. However, he was captured by the French and brought to trial for treason. Found guilty, Amery was executed by hanging in December 1945, becoming the last person to be executed for treason in the United Kingdom.
