Nathan Hale Quotes
A collection of quotes by Nathan Hale.
Nathan Hale (1755-1776) was an American soldier and spy during the American Revolutionary War. Born in Connecticut, he graduated from Yale University in 1773 and joined the Continental Army in 1775. Hale volunteered to gather intelligence behind British lines, but was captured by the British and hanged as a spy at the age of 21. Considered a martyr for the American cause, his famous last words were, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." His bravery and sacrifice have become an enduring symbol of patriotism in the United States.
