Philippe Perrin is a former French astronaut and military pilot. He was born on January 13, 1963, in Meknes, Morocco. Perrin began his career in the French Air Force in 1985, specializing in fighter jets and accumulating over 3,000 flight hours. He flew various aircraft, including Mirage 2000 and Mirage F1.

In 1996, Perrin was selected as an astronaut by the French National Space Agency, CNES. He joined the European Space Agency (ESA) in the same year. Perrin received extensive training in space operations and scientific experiments and participated in several missions.
