A collection of quotes by Scott Brown.
Scott Brown is a prominent American politician and attorney born on September 12, 1959, in Kittery, Maine. He rose to prominence as a member of the Republican Party, serving as a United States Senator for Massachusetts from 2010 to 2013. Brown began his political career in the Massachusetts State Legislature, where he represented the 9th Norfolk district from 1998 to 2004. During this time, he gained a reputation as a moderate Republican, often crossing party lines to support progressive causes.
In 2010, Brown gained national attention when he won a special election to fill the vacant Senate seat left by the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy, becoming the first Republican senator from Massachusetts since 1972. As a senator, Brown focused on issues such as veterans' affairs, fiscal responsibility, and promoting bipartisanship. However, in 2012, he lost his bid for re-election to Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren.
After leaving the Senate, Brown remained active in politics and public service. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa from 2017 to 2020, appointed by President Donald Trump. Brown also ran unsuccessful campaigns for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire in 2014 and for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts again in 2020.
Outside of politics, Brown has worked as an attorney and served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for over three decades, reaching the rank of colonel. He is also a best-selling author, having written two books: "Against All Odds: My Life of Hardship, Fast Breaks, and Second Chances" and "Secrets of a Navy SEAL."
