Scott Walker Quotes
A collection of quotes by Scott Walker.
Scott Walker is a former American politician, born on November 2, 1967, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He served as the 45th Governor of Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019. Walker, a member of the Republican Party, rose to prominence by championing conservative policies and leading efforts to restrict collective bargaining for most public employees.
Prior to becoming governor, Walker served as the Milwaukee County Executive from 2002 to 2010, during which he gained a reputation for his fiscal management and reforms. He launched his first gubernatorial campaign in 2006 but was unsuccessful. However, in 2010, he won the election for Wisconsin's highest political office, and then successfully defended his seat in the 2012 recall election.
During his tenure as governor, Walker pursued a variety of controversial policies, such as implementing tax cuts, tightening voter ID laws, and opposing the expansion of Medicaid. He also worked to weaken the power of labor unions and introduced legislation to curtail collective bargaining rights, sparking massive protests and national attention.
Walker's political career witnessed both triumphs and setbacks, as he ran for the Republican Party's nomination in the 2016 United States presidential election but dropped out before the primaries. After serving two terms as Wisconsin's governor, he left office in 2019. Since then, Walker has remained involved in conservative political advocacy and has been a prominent public figure within the Republican Party.
