Sogyal Rinpoche was a Tibetan Buddhist teacher and author, known for his influential book "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying." Born in 1947 in Kham, Tibet, Rinpoche was recognized as the incarnation of a renowned Tibetan master. He received extensive training in the Buddhist tradition and became a prominent figure in spreading Tibetan Buddhism to the West. Rinpoche founded the Rigpa organization, which has centers worldwide, and dedicated his life to teaching meditation and mindfulness practices. He passed away in August 2019.
