Thomas Morell (1703-1784) was an English clergyman, classical scholar, and translator. He was born in Eton and educated at King's College, Cambridge. Morell served as the headmaster of the Merchant Taylors' School in London and later became the vicar of Buckland, Hertfordshire. He gained recognition for his translations of Greek and Latin works, including plays by Euripides and Aeschylus. Morell also collaborated with composer George Frideric Handel, providing English librettos for several of his operas. His translations and contributions to the literary world made him a respected figure in 18th-century England.
