She is best known for her self-published manifesto, the SCUM Manifesto, which advocated for the elimination of men and the establishment of a female-only society. Solanis gained notoriety for her attempted assassination of artist Andy Warhol in 1968, an act she claimed was motivated by the artist's rejection of her screenplay.
