William Harrison (1773-1841) was the ninth President of the United States, serving for only 32 days before his untimely death. Born in Virginia, Harrison was known for his military career, particularly his role in the Battle of Tippecanoe during the War of 1812. Prior to his presidency, he held various government positions, including governor of the Indiana Territory. Although his tenure as president was brief, Harrison is remembered for delivering the longest inaugural speech in American history. Unfortunately, his presidency was cut short by pneumonia, making him the first president to die in office.
