Abe Fortas was an American attorney and jurist who served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1965 to 1969. He was born on June 19, 1910, in Memphis, Tennessee. However, his Supreme Court career was cut short due to a controversial ethics scandal surrounding his close relationship with President Lyndon B. Johnson.
