Charles G. Dawes (1865-1951) was an American banker, politician, and Nobel laureate. Born in Ohio, Dawes studied law and later co-founded a successful Chicago-based bank. He served as the 30th Vice President of the United States under President Calvin Coolidge from 1925 to 1929. Dawes is best known for his work on the Dawes Plan, which aimed to stabilize the German economy after World War I. For his efforts, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925. In addition to his political career, Dawes also composed music and was an avid amateur musician.
