Christy Mathewson Quotes
A collection of quotes by Christy Mathewson.
Christy Mathewson (1880-1925) was an American baseball pitcher and one of the most dominant players of his era. Born in Factoryville, Pennsylvania, Mathewson achieved great success during his career with the New York Giants from 1900 to 1916. Known for his exceptional control and strategic pitching, he won 373 games and recorded 2,502 strikeouts, both impressive records at the time. Mathewson's remarkable career was cut short by his service in World War I, and he tragically passed away at the age of 45 due to complications from tuberculosis. He was posthumously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.
