Ed Macauley was a professional basketball player born on March 22, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Known as "Easy Ed," he played in the NBA as a forward/center for the St. Louis Bombers, Boston Celtics, and St. Louis Hawks from 1949 to 1960. Macauley was a seven-time NBA All-Star and helped the Celtics win their first NBA championship in 1957. In 1960, he retired from playing and later served as the head coach for the St. Louis Hawks. Macauley was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1960. He passed away on November 9, 2011, in St. Louis.
