Galeazzo Ciano (1903-1944) was an Italian politician, diplomat, and journalist during the early 20th century. He was born in Livorno, Italy, into a wealthy and influential family. Ciano became involved in politics at a young age and joined the National Fascist Party in 1922. He later married Benito Mussolini's daughter, Edda Mussolini, and his relationship with Mussolini, combined with his political skills, helped him rise through the ranks.

In 1936, Ciano was appointed as Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he held until 1943.
