Harold Camping (1921-2013) was an American Christian radio broadcaster and founder of Family Radio, a non-profit organization. He gained notoriety for his predictions about the end of the world, particularly his widely publicized prediction of the Rapture on May 21, 2011. Camping believed in a literal interpretation of the Bible and used mathematical calculations to predict the exact dates of various biblical events. Despite his failed predictions, he continued to espouse his beliefs until his death.
