John Fitzgerald Kennedy, also known as JFK, was the 35th President of the United States. Born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts, he came from a prominent political family. After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, Kennedy entered politics, eventually becoming a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and later the U.S. Senate. In 1960, Kennedy won the presidential election, becoming the youngest elected president at the age of 43. His presidency was marked by the Cuban Missile Crisis, the establishment of the Peace Corps, and civil rights initiatives. Tragically, Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas.
