Lucius Annaeus Seneca, commonly known as Seneca the Younger, was a Roman philosopher, politician, and playwright who lived during the first century AD. Born in Cordoba, Spain, he rose to prominence in Rome as a tutor to Emperor Nero. Seneca is best known for his philosophical works, particularly his Stoic writings which emphasized the importance of virtue and self-control.
