Pete Maravich, born on June 22, 1947, was a legendary American basketball player. Known for his extraordinary ball-handling skills and scoring ability, Maravich played college basketball at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA history. He then went on to play 10 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), primarily for the Atlanta Hawks and the New Orleans Jazz. Maravich was a five-time NBA All-Star and was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 40 in 1988.
