Rahm Emanuel is an American politician, political strategist, and former mayor of Chicago. He was born on November 29, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois. Emanuel attended Sarah Lawrence College and Northwestern University, where he received his Bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 1981. He later earned a Master's degree in speech and communication from Northwestern.

Emanuel initially served as a senior advisor to President Bill Clinton, playing a significant role in crafting policy initiatives such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). He then served as a congressman representing Illinois' 5th congressional district from 2003 to 2009.
