Roger Wicker is an American politician who currently serves as the senior United States Senator from Mississippi. He was born on July 5, 1951, in Pontotoc, Mississippi. Wicker graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in political science and later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

His political career began in the Mississippi state Senate, where he served from 1988 to 1994. Wicker then represented Mississippi's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2007.
