Timothy McVeigh Quotes
A collection of quotes by Timothy McVeigh.
Timothy McVeigh was an American domestic terrorist born on April 23, 1968, in Lockport, New York. He is infamous for his role in the Oklahoma City bombing, one of the deadliest acts of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. McVeigh was raised in a troubled household, and after a troubled time in the army, he became radicalized and developed anti-government sentiments.
On April 19, 1995, McVeigh parked a rental truck packed with explosives outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The explosion resulted in the death of 168 people, including 19 children, and injured over 500. The bombing was a direct response to what McVeigh perceived as a tyrannical U.S. federal government, particularly the handling of events such as the Ruby Ridge standoff and the Waco siege.
McVeigh was captured shortly after the bombing and ultimately stood trial. In 1997, he was found guilty on 11 federal charges, including conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction. He was sentenced to death and executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001, at the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Timothy McVeigh's actions and the Oklahoma City bombing shook the nation, highlighting the threat of domestic terrorism and leading to significant changes in security and anti-terrorism measures across the country.
