Walter Knott (1889-1981) was an American farmer and entrepreneur, best known for founding Knott's Berry Farm, a popular amusement park in California. Born in San Bernardino, Knott started his career as a berry farmer, where he eventually cultivated the first boysenberries. In 1928, he opened a small restaurant to sell his wife's berry preserves, and soon the business expanded into a full-fledged fried chicken restaurant, attracting large crowds.
