Warren Earl Burger (1907-1995) was an American jurist who served as the 15th Chief Justice of the United States from 1969 to 1986. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Burger graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1931. After practicing law for several years, he established his own law firm in 1939. Burger also served as a member of the Minnesota Commission on Practice and Procedure and as a lecturer at the William Mitchell College of Law.
